Seminars and Customer Support Down Under

Chick Master recently organized technical seminars in Australia and New Zealand. These seminars were attended by representatives from many of the leading poultry producers. Tim Hodgetts, Sales Manager, and Chip Campbell, Technical Support Manager, gave several presentations on current trends in hatchery incubation and ways to improve efficiencies in the process. Chick Master has been expanding its market share in these two countries with new facilities recently starting up for broiler and layer production. There are also several facilities dedicated to the vaccine industry using our Avida single stage setters. The seminars were organized by our local representative, AUSTRALASIAN AGRICULTURAL SERVICES PTY LTD.

Also during the trip, Tim and Chip spent time visiting customers who have recently installed our equipment. One of these visits included Spring Chicken in New Zealand that are using Avida A12 setters and C192 hatchers.

Lohmann France expands with Avida Systems

Lohmann France recently inaugurated its expansion to the hatchery in St. Fulgent.  They decided to use Avida 18 Single Stage setters and C192 hatchers with stainless steel interiors.  The project includes the Galaxy central computer system connected to the Genesis IV controls on each of the setters and hatchers.  The Chick Master Energy Management division has designed and supplied the ventilation and cooling systems for this expansion.

As part of any new project, Chick Master provided on site training recently during the start up of the expansion.  David Marsh and Marek Plicht from Chick Master reviewed machine operations, use of the Galaxy software, stage programming and other machine maintenance issues.  The objective was to review all the tools that these advanced systems have to offer so the Lohmann team can use them to their best advantage.  Attending the training sessions were Mr. Joel Adefray (Director of Lohmann France), Denis Annerau (Hatchery Manager), Benoit Guilmineau (Assistant Hatchery Manager), and Dominique Bonnet (Maintenance Manager).  Christelle Gelineau and Marie-Joel Guebert also participated.  This was the first step in the training process.  David will be returning in a few weeks to review the operations and results in the facility.  This is an ongoing process of constant training and communications with our customers.

Chick Master is committed to working with our customers on training and in addition to on site visits, we have organized many regional seminars around the globe to exchange ideas and concepts with hatchery management.  We are honoured that the Lohmann Group has selected us for this important expansion project.
